The Rendon Group partnered with Winning Strategies to produce leadership conferences for young women that coincided with the 2004 Democratic and Republican National Conventions. The Boston conference was held at Lesley University in Cambridge and the New York conference was held at Barnard College in New York City. The events brought together young women from around the country to participate in an event that educated, inspired and empowered them to make a difference.
Participants interacted with established women leaders and learned effective strategies on how to advocate for issues they care about and how to have an impact on government and society. The conferences included general sessions with keynote speakers and smaller panel discussions featuring female leaders from business, community , media and government.
The two conferences were attended by more than 450 young women from across the United States. These women represented a diverse group that developed leadership skills and relationships that will inspire them to strive for prominent roles in all career fields. Key speakers included former Democratic presidential candidate and Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun, former Texas Governor Ann Richards, Ann Stone from Republicans for Choice and United States Congresswomen Jan Schakowsky (IL) and Rosa DeLora (CT).
The Rendon Group coordinated all conference logistics including speaker outreach and coordination, attendee recruitment and registration, scripting and overall management of the conferences, press relations and videography.
