Meet the creative forces behind The Rendon Group
Senior Partner
As co-founder and Senior Partner of The Rendon Group, Inc., Mr. Rendon oversees the Boston office and domestic operations. Since forming The Rendon Group in 1981, Mr. Rendon has served as a senior communications consultant to dozens of government, corporate, union, trade, and non-profit organizations.
He has served as event producer or manager for over 250 special events during his career. These events range from fundraising dinners to international political conventions. A sampling of these events include: the Aruban Democratic Party “AVP” Convention, the Massachusetts Democratic State Convention, the Dedication of the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge, the Malden Mills Dedication Event, IBEW 103 100th Anniversary Event, and various clients for the Democratic National Convention.
In 2011 he created the United We Stand for America (USA) project that was developed to give young people an outlet after September 11, 2001. More than 50,000 students from 700 Massachusetts schools wrote messages on individual pieces of fabric that were assembled to create a giant quilt of an American flag – more than 1/2 the size of a football field.
Mr. Rendon is the founder of Empower Peace, a program that is bridging the cultural and communication divide between young people worldwide. With a particular focus on connecting youth in the United States and Arab and Muslim world, Empower Peace uses the latest in interactive technologies and intensive leadership training to break down misconceptions and build meaningful relationships and skills. Through a global network of students and schools, Empower Peace is providing the next generation with the opportunities and tools needed to advance mutual respect, understanding and peace. Through Empower Peace, Mr. Rendon has connected 50,000 students, with thousands more connecting every year.
In addition to having more than 25 years of experience as a senior communications consultant, Mr. Rendon previously served as a Public Information Officer for the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and as a member of United States President Jimmy Carter’s national political staff.
Vice President of Marketing and Business Development
As the founder of two successful businesses, and as an executive and consultant to major corporations Mr. DeGeorge has demonstrated his ability to lead and bring organization to their next level of growth. He brings a unique talent and broad background having worked for hundreds of corporations in various industries. Here at The Rendon Group he is working with and helping clients explore and develop effective communication and marketing strategies.
Mr. DeGeorge has over 25 years of experience in marketing and organizational development. Most recently he served as the Integrated Marketing Manager for New England Cable News. (NECN). During his tenure with NECN, he worked with such clients as Liberty Mutual, Raytheon, The John F. Kennedy Library as well as supporting such programs as CEO Corner, and TV Diner with Billy Costa.
As a native Bostonian he continues to support various charities and organizations.
Vice President of Public Relations and Special Events
Ms. Raynard brings more than 15 years experience in public and media relations, special event coordination, media advertising and public education campaigns to The Rendon Group. Ms. Raynard is instrumental in developing effective communications and special event strategies to our clients including Merck, Time Warner, Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative, and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Environmental Affairs. Ms. Raynard specializes in developing and implementing statewide public outreach campaigns and has extensive experience in media relations, organizing press conferences and special events throughout the country.
Ms. Raynard was the vice president of public relations at Hawthorne Associates, a public relations and marketing agency that specialized in the corporate training industry. While at Hawthorne Associates, Ms. Raynard was responsible for developing public relations and media outreach campaigns for clients.
In addition to public and media relations, Ms. Raynard's responsibilities include the development and implementation of marketing and promotional materials, community coalition building and oversees the media buying division of The Rendon Group.
Production Manager
Tua Broderick has been with The Rendon Group since May 2007. As the Production Manager, she is involved with all stages of the process including pre-production research, scheduling, casting, shooting and editing. During her time at The Rendon Group Tua has been nominated for two Emmy awards and received one for production management and as a digital editor.
Tua started her video career at a post-production company in Los Angeles. She later joined a TV production company in Stockholm, Sweden working as a production manager for a children's television show and a documentary in Seoul, South Korea. Prior to joining The Rendon Group, Tua spent two and a half years at Dartmouth College as an editor and videographer. She is one of the team's most internationally versed members and uses her experiences to help clients to develop the strongest message possible.
Tua received her Bachelors degree in Arts from Lund University in Sweden. She attended graduate school at Emerson College where she earned a Masters in Media Production.
Office & Finance Manager
Kristine is newest member of the The Rendon Group family. As the Office & Finance Manager at The Rendon Group, she manages the companies finances, vendor relations, internship program, and administers employee benefits & policies.
Kristine recently worked for MIT and the US Census. She is a graduate from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management.
Vice President of Electronic Media
John Carley has over 30 years experience in electronic media production, the past 19 years of his career with The Rendon Group.
After receiving his Bachelor's degree in Communications from Boston University Mr. Carley began his career in the news departments of several Boston-area radio stations and as a freelance writer/producer for National Public Radio. This was followed by five years working for a number of organizations writing and producing video projects primarily on healthcare related topics. During this time he also received his Masters Degree in Management from the University of Massachusetts.
During his almost two decades at the Rendon Group John has worked on projects for just about every Boston television station as well as a number of national networks, cable channels and individual programs. His work has appeared on MTV, ABC World News, The Today Show, E!, HGTV, CNN, Good Morning America and even The Oprah Winfrey Show.
John is responsible for overseeing all electronic production activities at the Rendon Group, but he is happiest when he is working in the field or in an edit suite. He has worked every aspect of production, from serving as executive producer to stringing audio cable.
Mr. Carley has written and produced three Emmy award winning campaigns as well as winning two individual Emmys for his writing.
Director of Photography
Douglas Wicks is a senior producer and The Rendon Group. He has more than twenty years of experience in all aspects of video production.
Since 1992, Mr. Wicks has been working at The Rendon Group in Boston. He is currently the senior producer as well as an editor, writer and director. He has shot hundreds of people, places and things all over the U.S. and around the world, most recently in Cairo, Egypt talking to Egyptian youth about their involvement in the revolution. Doug has been nominated for several Emmy awards for his work at The Rendon Group and has won four.
Prior to joining the The Rendon Group, Doug worked for WIX PIX Productions in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and Townhouse Post-Productions in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Wicks is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a degree in broadcasting. After college he served in the army for 4 years helping to keep the Russians out of West Germany, an accomplishment in which he takes great pride.
Director of Information Technology
Rich Eames joined The Rendon Group Inc. in June of 1998 and has extensive experience in all things technical. He is primarily responsible for coordinating all computer, technical, and network operations for The Rendon Group. Rich's background in electronic media editing and information technology has given The Rendon Group a significant technical advantage and continues to support the companies reputation as ahead of the industry standard.
As an editor, Mr. Eames has worked on various projects: a training and public awareness video for the Boston Public Library's Reading Readiness Program, corporate videos for Citizen's Communications, an event opener for FleetBoston Financial, as well as several public service announcements and videos for the Department of Environmental Protection, one of which was an Emmy Award winner in 2001 for Best Public Service Announcement.
Rich works extensively with internet and broadcasting aspects of The Rendon Group sending events and productions into cyberspace. Rich's technical expertise is exemplified in graphic components for The Rendon Group projects including: the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 100th Anniversary video, Teradyne TQM Days event opener, Public Service Announcements for the Massachusetts Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation, Team Harmony, Empower Peace, the Federal Reserve, Citizens for Rail Safety, and Ovarian Cancer Awareness campaign.
Mr. Eames graduated from Massachusetts Communications College with a degree in Television Broadcasting.
Assistant Account Executive
Krisanne joined The Rendon Group during the spring of 2009. As an Assistant Account Executive at The Rendon Group, Krisanne has worked on a variety of campaigns including The Massachusetts Department of Public Health's "Flu Facts" campaign, The Massachusetts Operational Services Division's STAR Exhibition and The Ovarian Cancer Awareness Campaign. Krisanne is also the editor of the "EP NewsGram" published by Empower Peace on a quarterly basis.
Prior to her work with The Rendon Group, Krisanne served as Outreach Director for the Massachusetts Task Force to Combat Human Trafficking. She also spent time volunteering in Guatemala with Safe Passage, working primarily in the Women's Literacy Center and their flourishing jewelry cooperative.
Krisanne graduated from Boston College in May of 2008 with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Faith, Peace and Justice.
Senior Producer
Michael Otis brings twenty years of communications experience to The Rendon Group, where he is currently working as a senior producer. Over the past twelve years Mr. Otis has managed and produced numerous corporate video and multi-media presentations for well-known New England companies. Some of Mr. Otis' current clients include Elderhostel, Inc., the Norfolk County Sheriff's Office, the Boston Chamber Music Society, and the New England Conservatory of Music. Michael was the producer and account executive on the Walden Pond Interactive Kiosk project, which won a non-profit/ public service award at the prestigious MIMC Awards in 1997 for The Rendon Group and The Mass. Dept. of Environmental Management.
Today at The Rendon Group, Mr. Otis works with clientele from financial service companies to international non-profits.
Prior to joining The Rendon Group, Michael Otis held senior management positions at AV Design Associates, Inc. in Boston, MA; and AV World, a Natick, MA based multi-image and design production company.
Director of Youth Marketing
Kari has worked with a number of clients on their public awareness/public relations initiatives such as: the Department of Environmental Protection, the M. Patricia Cronin Foundation to Fight Ovarian Cancer, the Massachusetts Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation, the Academy for Educational Development's BluePack Project and the New England Office of Youth Services and Job Corps.
Kari has served as event manager for the Boston Sports Awards, an awards program that honors professional, collegiate and high school athletes for the work they do on and off the playing field. She also served as event manager for the Bridging Our Dreams Youth Summit held in conjunction with the Dedication Event for the Leonard P. Zakim/Bunker Hill Bridge.
Ms. Johnston graduated from Northeastern University in 1997.
