Rick Rendon
Senior Partner
As co-founder and Senior Partner of The Rendon Group, Inc. (TRG), Mr. Rendon oversees TRG’s Boston office and domestic operations. Since forming TRG in 1981, Mr. Rendon has served as a senior communications consultant to dozens of government, corporate, union, trade, and non-profit organizations. Mr. Rendon also created and developed TRG’s electronic media division, The Rendon Group Productions (TRGP).

Mr. Rendon has also served as event producer or manager for over 250 special events during his career. These events range from fundraising dinners to international political conventions. A sampling of these events include: the Aruban Democratic Party “AVP” Convention, the Massachusetts Democratic State Convention, the Dedication of the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge, the Malden Mills Dedication Event, IBEW 103 100th Anniversary Event, and various clients for the Democratic National Convention.

Mr. Rendon takes great pride in creating and developing innovative community-based initiatives and social campaigns. Mr. Rendon worked with community leaders and activists to create and develop Team Harmony, which brought more than 14,000 middle and high school students together annually to discuss the issues of hatred and prejudice and to develop programs to promote diversity and harmony in schools and communities.

Mr. Rendon created the United We Stand for America (USA) project that was developed to give young people an outlet after September 11, 2001. More than 50,000 students from 700 Massachusetts schools wrote messages on individual pieces of fabric that were assembled to create a giant quilt of an American flag – more than 1/2 the size of a football field.

Mr. Rendon also created Empower Peace, a program that is bridging the cultural and communication divide between young people worldwide. With a particular focus on connecting youth in the United States and Arab and Muslim world, Empower Peace uses the latest in interactive technologies and intensive leadership training to break down misconceptions and build meaningful relationships and skills. Through a global network of students and schools, Empower Peace is providing the next generation with the opportunities and tools needed to advance mutual respect, understanding and peace. Through Empower Peace, Mr. Rendon has connected 50,000 students, with thousands more connecting every year.

In addition to having more than 25 years of experience as a senior communications consultant, Mr. Rendon previously served as a Public Information Officer for the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and as a member of United States President Jimmy Carter’s national political staff.
